Famiglia cagliaritana di origine valenzana le cui notizie risalgono al sec. XVII. I Borras erano amministratori del feudo di Quirra e come tali furono ammessi allo stamento militare nel 1688 durante il parlamento Monteleone. Scoppiata la guerra di successione spagnola, nel 1707 un Francesco fu tra gli artefici della sollevazione della Gallura a favore degli Asburgo che lo ricompensarono nello stesso anno con il cavalierato ereditario e la nobiltà. All'avvento dei Savoia i Borras si trasferirono nel napoletano dove nel 1784 un Pasquale divenne comandante della marina borbonica. Lo stemma della famiglia Borras si blasona: Spaccato: nel 1° d'argento con un toro an naturale; nel 2° losangato d'oro e di nero.
