Cagliaritana family from Alassio the chefs date back to the XVLL century The Borro were merchants, at the end of the seventeenth century a Nicola had opened a typography in Cagliari. Reached a fair economic position, in 1695, they obtained the hereditary knight and the nobility with a Giacomo who in 1698 was admitted to the military station in the Montellano parliament. His sons formed two different branches of the family: the Borro knights descended from Pietro and died out during the century. XVIII. The feudal branch descended from Dr. Giovanni Battista, whose economic conditions in 1712 allowed him to purchase the fief of Marrubiu. One of his descendants in 1754 had the fief raised in marquisate with the predicate of S. Carlo. The family died out in the century. XIX and the title was inherited by the Cugia. House arms: Cutaway; in the 1st silver, with three bands of black, and at the tip, on the right, a naked tree on a mountain of three peaks, all natural; in the 2nd pure silver, to the knight armed with all patches in the act of thrusting the horse against a standing upright dragon, all natural.
