Família nobre e notável de Finale Emilia, de virtude clara e ancestral, com núcleos importantes também em Bolonha e Modena, que se espalhou ao longo dos séculos em várias regiões da Itália. Desde o século XVII, esta casa é considerada uma das consulares do Finale. Lá, Giuseppe Borsari ergueu um grandioso palácio na via Frassoni, ainda hoje entre os edifícios de arquitetura mais interessante das planícies de Modena.
