Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Geoffroi, fils juveigneur d'Olivier Tournemine, seigneur de la Hunaudaye et d'Isabeau de Machecoul, est l'auter de cette famille; il fut capitaine de Guingamp et fut tué à un siège de la Roche-Derrien en 1347. De son mariage avec Jeanne, il laissa entre autres enfants qui retinrent le même nom: Guillaume, trésorier de la cathédrale de Tréguier, entendu dans l'enquête pour la canonisation de saint Yves en 1330. Pierre, secrétaire du duc épousa vers 1420 Jeanne l'Evêque; un chevalier de Malte en 1566. La branche aînée fondue dans Péan de la Roche-Jagu, d'où Geoffroi passa par alliance aux d'Acigné, puis aux Richelieu et par acquêt aux le Prestre, puis Hay du Chastelet.
