Antica ed assai nobile famiglia veneta, con residenza in Padova, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. L'origine di tal cognominizzazione, al dir di autorevoli genealogisti, andrebbe ricercata nel mestiere di fabbricante o venditore di botti o di bottoni o da un soprannome transitato dal dialetto. In ogni modo, la famiglia Botton venne ascritta al Consiglio Nobile di Padova, il 13 dicembre 1626, in persona di Daniele, di Antonio. Inoltre, fu confermata Nobile con Sovrana Risoluzione Austriaca del 24 novembre 1820, nelle persone di: 1) Giovanni Antonio, del fu Parmeggiano e della nobile signora Elisabetta Moretti, nato il 17 luglio 1783, unitosi in matrimonio, il 15 marzo 1804, con la nobile signora Pierina, da cui ebbe Vincenzo Luigi, n. 24 gennaio 1813, e Massimiliana Elisabetta, n. 18 gennaio 1816; 2) Vincenzo Alberto, del fu Parmeggiano, nato il 7 febbraio 1785, ammogliatosi con la
