Famiglia feudale valenzana un cui ramo si trasferì in Sardegna con i fratelli Filippo e Raimondo che nel 1323 furono al seguito dell'Infante Alfonso. Nel 1326 Filippo fu governatore della Sardegna e fu investito di alcuni piccoli feudi in territorio di Cagliari. Nel 1338 suo fratello Raimondo fu nominato inquisitore e riformatore della Sardegna. Pietro figlio di Filippo prese parte alla spedizione di Pietro IV e si comportò valorosamente nella conquista di Alghero. Stabilitosi in quella città nel 1354 ne divenne governatore, nel 1364, ottenne dal fisco la signoria del salto di Putifigari. I suoi discendenti successivamente riuscirono ad avere la signoria di altri estesi salti confinanti con quello di Putifigari: nel 1446 suo nipote Giovanni acquistò dai Ferret il salto di Ruda; nel 1457 un Francesco acquistò dai De Ferraria quello di Vaquili.
