Si scorge fra le prime antiche e nobili famiglie della città di Messina la famiglia, deriva da sangue Tedesco, e venne in Sicilia sotto il reggimento delll'Imperatore Federico secondo, guidata d'Arnaldo cavaliero di non puoco valore, ed intelligenza, il quale ivi procreò à Giovan Andrea, che dal medesmo Imperatore hebbe i territorij, che furono chiamati poscia per il suo dominio, della Bozzetta; che divennero principalissimi feudi della famiglia Grimaldi. Procreò costui à Giovanni cavaliero giuditioso, che si casò con Aloisia Pardo, perilche acquistò il feudo di Sieri nel territorio di Caltagirone. Questo feudo fù portato d'Aloisia, moglie d'Alaimo di Pardo, nel casamento, ch'ella fece con il detto Alaimo cavaliero Aragonese nella città di Leontini, ai quali successe il Leonardo suo figlio, che morì nel tempo del Rè Lodovico; perilche la detta Aloisia sua madre dotò detto feudo ad Aloisia sua nepote, figlia del predetto Leonardo, casata con il
