Un ramo dei Rossetti, cospicua famiglia ferrarese che vanta parecchi uomini insigni e che godette i titoli di conte di Cannetole e di marchese di Val d'Alberto, si trasferì da Ferrara alla vicina terra di Pontelagoscuro, e ivi nel 1567 dimorava un Sigismondo di Pierantonio d'altro Sigismondo. Suo figlio Domenico, vivente nel 1619 e nel 1630, o perché fosse figlio d'una B. o per ragioni ereditarie , e forse anche per evitare confusioni con un suo omonimo contemporaneo, fu soprannominato Braghino, e così il cognome è passato, in luogo dell'originario, alla sua discendenza. Coi fratelli Ignazio (nato 1770) e Luigi (nato 1772) di Angelo, questa si divise in due linee: la prima s'è estinta nel 1914 con Pietro figlio di Benedetto d'Ignazio, a favore del quale era stato rinnovato il titolo comitale nel 1904; l'altra invece ancora fiorente e ha assunto per eredità il secondo cognome Nagliati.
