Ciaccone relata que o P. Leone Brancaleone Romano Cassinese, monge de 1199, foi nomeado cardeal por Inocêncio III e era cardeal de grande valor e mérito, mas o atribui a ser um monge de armas diferente. É uma memória dessa família no Arquivo Lateranense de 1445 e 1472. Semodea Brancaleone era a esposa de Urso Cesarini, e em 1480 Brigida Brancaleoni era a esposa de Troilo Ursini, e mais tarde relacionaram as colinas de Nardini, as de Carboni, com Palombara, com Avveduti, com Javovacci, que herdou a casa de Margherita Brancaleoni, esposa de Lorenzo Jacovacci, em que a família foi extinta. De 1473 casamento entre Lorenzo qm. Domenico Jcovacci Romano e Margherita de Bernabeo Brancaleone e Lorenzo Orsini. De 1552, Camillo Brancaleone compra o castelo de Vicovaro em Sabina. Em 1583, Pietro, Antonio, Prospero e Matteo Brancaleone venderam o castelo Nettuno a Paolo Mattei e em 1593 venderam Vicovaro a
