Antica ed assai nobile famiglia toscana, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia e del mondo. Conosciuta come Bresci o Breschi, questa casata fu assai nobile nella città di Prato ed estese taluni suoi domini anche alla città di Pistoia. D'altronde questa famiglia, nel dispiegarsi dei lustri, si è sempre distinta per aver dato i natali a pregevoli personalità, illustratesi nelle professioni giuridiche e nelle carriere ecclesiastiche e militari. Dai nostri archivi: Tommaso Breschi, proprietario terriero, fiorente in Prato nel tardo XVI secolo; Antonio Maria Breschi, notaio in Prato, fiorente nel 1619; Agostino Breschi, dottore in l'una e l'altra legge, fiorente in Prato nel 1658; P. Carlo Breschi, rettore di S. Leonardo in Pistoia, fiorente nel 1690; Severo Breschi, dottore in l'una e l'altra legge, fiorente in Prato nel 1715; P. Gio. Maria Breschi, priore di S. Vitale in Pistoia, fiorente nel 1720;
