Excellente noblesse, maintenue en Auvergne le 14 déc. 1667, en la personne de Pierre, domicilié à Vieil-Brioude, sur preuves remontant à Maurice, damoiseau en 1454. Douze chanoines-comtes de Brioude (1257-1789), dont un prévôt et un doyen de ce chapitre (1744-1776); un chapelain de l'église de St-Pal-de-Murs (1277). Nicolas, prieur de Chamalières, assista en 1633 et 1638 aux Etats du Velay. Deux chevaliers de Malte (1460-1606); des pages du roi; des officiers de terre et de mer, etc. Vital, mar. à Françoise Colomb de la Tour, se qualifiait en 1764 de sgr. du Prunet, cosgr. de Séjallières et de Saussac. A la même maison appartenait: François, fils d'Hector, sgr. du Fay et du Mas près Sanssac-l'Église, maintènu dans sa noblesse en Velay, le 14 déc. 1668. Sa descendance fut convoquée en 1789, à l'assemblée de la sénéchaussée du Puy.
