Antiga e nobre família francesa, originária da região da Normandia, de clara e ancestral virtude, que se difundiu mundialmente, ao longo dos séculos. A clara nobreza desta Casa é confirmada pela presença do seu brasão na valiosa obra de JB Rietstap (12 de Maio de 1828 – 24 de Dezembro de 1891), heráldico e genealogista holandês, "O General Armorial", uma obra monumental que contém os brasões dos brasões de mais de 130.000 famílias europeias.
