Ancient and illustrious family from Savona (Liguria), of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread over the centuries. According to what has been handed down, this family descends from the noble Abriano family of Veneto. The Abriano family since 1466 was ascribed to the noble order of Padua, and as such was recognized by the Veneto Senate in 1627. Emperor Frederick III in 1469 had also granted it the title of Palatine Counts. One of its branches therefore, between the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries, moved to Liguria and precisely to Savona where the surname lost its initial vowel over time. In the new homeland always it had a high social position thanks to its members that have made it shine. Many members of this family have in fact distinguished themselves by skill and cleverness, especially in the liberal professions and in the field of humanistic knowledge. From our archive:
