Nobile famiglia che vanta alte tradizioni militari. Giuseppe (1772-1846) fu uno dei più valorosi compagni d'arme di re Gioacchino Murat; per la sua bravura meritò il 7 settembre 1814 il titolo trasmissibile di barone. Venne in seguito insignito di alte onorificenze cavalleresche, elevato alla carica di ministro di Guerra e Marina (a. 1833), ed al grado di Maresciallo graduato dell'esercito napoletano. Suo figlio Enrico (1819-1885), fu ammiraglio, senatore e ministro della Marina del regno d'Italia. Altro ammiraglio e senatore fu Alfonso (1844-1918), figlio del predetto, segnalatosi a Lissa, e da cui: il bar. Umberto rappresentante della casa e Matilde in Zavagli. Da (deceduto) Giuseppe, poi, fratello di Alfonso, i figliuoli Enrico, capitano di guerra, ferito e due volte decor. ed il capitano di corvetta Francesco, capitano aviatore in guerra, e due volte decor. al valore.
