Questa famiglia ha le stesse origini dell'omonima del Piemonte. Essendosi la nobile famiglia Masucci estinta nei B., questi ne portano il cognome e ne inquartano lo stemma; si estinse nei B. anche quella dei conti Masetti di Camerino per il matrimonio di Olimpia Masetti con Francesco Antonio Masucci, e infine la famiglia del conte De Vecchi di Fabriano con Flavia de Vecchi che andò sposa a Benedetto, nonno dell'attuale conte Benedetto. Di tutte queste famiglie i B. ne inquartano lo stemma. La famiglia Masetti nel 1633 ebbe il titolo comitale da Ferdinando II. Tale titolo nel 1803 fu confermato a Filippo Masucci e ai suoi discendenti, per successione di tale famiglia. Un ramo di questa famiglia portava il titolo di conte di Ajano per discendenza da Pietro ed Antonio del 1778. Questo ramo è oggi estinto. La consulta Araldica ha riconosciuto a tale famiglia il titolo di nobile di Treja
