Antica ed illustre famiglia friulana, di chiara ed avita virtù, le cui diramazioni ebbero dimora in diversi luoghi della penisola italiana, in particolare in Veneto e nella Valle Emiliana del Po, ma anche europei e sudamericani, subendo modificazioni cognominali a seconda del luogo di residenza. Si ritiene pertanto che i Rondani ed i Brondani siano rami di un unico ceppo. La casata ha avuto uomini eccelsi, distintisi nel mestiere delle armi, nelle cariche ecclesiastiche e in quelle civili. E proprio per questi meriti, secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, ricevette patente di nobiltà nel secolo decimo settimo. Tra i personaggi che, maggiormente, le hanno reso lustro, senza nulla levar al valore degli omessi, ricordiamo: Giacomo, dottore in l'una e l'altra legge, fiorente in Udine, nel 1501; Pietro Paolo, lettore di filosofia, fiorente in Padova, nel 1529; P.
