Fa testimonio di ciò Giovanni Ritonio antichissimo scrittore. Di questa famiglia n'hanno usciti sempre chiari soggetti come testificano molti Regij, e Imperiali privilegij, con molt'altri autentiche scritture. Di lei dunque nè passò da Fiorenza in Sicilia Lorenzo B. figlio di Pier Francesco soggetto insigne, e stabitosi in Messina, si casò con Donna Leonora Trias de Merulla nobilissima Dama, e d'ambedue ne pervene il vivente Dottor Don Diego B., che giovenetto col suo elevato ingeno giunse, e avanzò i primi Avvocati della sua patira, dove pur fù Giudice Straticotiale della medesma Città, e non lungi poscia Giudice della Regia Gran Corte, e appresso del Supremo Tribunale Consistoriale, e hoggi dì vive col carico di Giudice del detto
