Questa famiglia viene nominata con diversi nomi, cioè Bulgari, Vulgari, e Vulgamini per rispetto, che di quel tempo, come oggi appresso li Spagnoli, promiscue usavano il V per B e viceversa la B. per V. La verità è che si deve scrivere per B, come apparisce in uno istromento nel Cencio Camerario conservato nella biblioteca Vaticana senza millessimo il quale però viene a cadere sotto il Pontificato d'Eugenio 3°, cioè MCLII, come ben riporta nelle sue note Alessandro della Valle, il quale istromento ho voluto porre qui alla distesa dovendolo allegare nelle famiglie susseguenti parimenti in esso mentionate. Ho voluto riferire questo antichissimo istromento, in questa famiglia perchè in esso è la prima nominate. Circa questo istrormento, si deve notare che al tempo del detto Papa Eugenio 3°, ritornò per la seconda volta in Roma un tal Arnoldo Tedesco uomo eretico, il quale sollecitò li Romani a abrogre al Papa
