Sono antichi gentiluomini Romani, come apparisce nel Ciaccone, che riferisce Romano B. fatto Cardinale da Innocenzo terzo nell'anno 1212, il cui padre si chiamò per nome Bonaventura, essendo discendente da Guidoni, onde questo seguitò a chiamarsi di B. Dall'istesso ceppo di Guidoni vengono li Papareschi, per Innocenzo secondo Papa, creato del 1130; il tutto si prova con autentici istrumenti come diremo a suo luogo. Lapide sepolcrale in San. Francesco in Trastevere. Altra lapide sepolcrale in Santa Maria di Arceli nella cappella di San Francesco. Onde della nobiltà, et antichità Romana delli B. non si può dubitare; La quale viene confermata da un'altra lapide sepolcrale nella detta chiesa di San Francesco in trastevere dell'anno 1375. Luca di Bonaventura aveva per moglie Ludovica di Paparozzi, Nobilissima femmina, come dall'Istromento di quietanza di residuo di Dote, che fà alla detta Ludovica il soprascritto Luca del Rione
