Fiorì con splendore ne i tempi antichi la famiglia B., detta anche Boccafuoco, over Buttafuoco nella Città di Piacenza, fra i suoi huomini illustri conforme in più luoghi nè fà mentione Gio: Pietro Crescenzi Romano nella corona della nobiltà d'Italia, ed dal P. Vincenzo Villa ne i suoi discorsi è celebrato Alexandro B. che militò a' serviggi del Duca Giovanni Galeazzo Visconte Duca di Milano, contro Otto Marchese di Monferrato. Questo fù figlio di Pirro, i fratelli del quale nella rotta di Marteo Visconte signor di Milano, datagli dal Patriarcha di Aquilea della famiglia Torreggiana, si partirono da Piacenza con altre famiglie nobili, e se nè passarono in Sicilia circa gl'anni 1347, e del 1348. Uno de' quali chiamato Giacopino havendo accommodato al rè Pietro secondo, due mila fiorini n'ottenne alcune rendite, e l'officio di ostiario reggio. e celbreato nella nobiltà d'Italia Theodoro B. conforme nè fà mentione Monsignor
