Procede de la villa de Cáseda (cuyo nombre tomó), del partido judicial de Aoiz (Navarra). Otra casa muy antigua hubo en la ciudad de Sangüesa, del mismo partido. Pasó a Aragón. Son sus armas: En documentos de la Nobleza Executoriada de Navarra se describen las armas de Cáseda de la casa de Sangüesa, en estos términos: "En el principal, tres barras y el otro dos navíos, y una inscripción que dice: In te Domine esperabit". Juan Carlos de Guerra asigna a la misma casa de Sangüesa, este otro escudo: Partido: primero, de gules, con un almete de plata, y segundo, de oro, con dos leones rampantes, uno de azur y otro de gules. Así consta en una ejecutoria de 1569. Son sus armas: En el principal, tres barras y el otro dos navíos, y una inscripción que dice: In te Domine esperabit. El estudio del escudo heráldico familiar nos "habla" de quienes formaron el origen de la familia C., pues esa era su función, la de manifestar a los demás sus elementos diferenciales. Los esmaltes del arma de los C. pregonan los siguientes valores:
