Very old lineage of the kingdom of the Lion, whose lot is unknown today. In the city of León they joined the noble family of Tovar. They went to Andalusia, taking an active part in the Reconquest struggles. In the city of Córdoba they also joined by marriage to the illustrious family of the Fernández de Córdova, and in the present province of Huelva, in the judicial district of Aracena, they founded a town, to which they gave the name of their surname and that of the region of its origin, calling it C. de León. Pedro González de C., first of the name, gentleman son of a notorious blood, Lord of the plot of C., in León, had a son, who was called Sancho González de C., who was Captain and took part with the Admiral of Castile Fernán Sánchez de Tovar in the exit that was made to defeat the Portuguese squad. Sancho González de C., in the city of León, married Doña Inés de Canseco, of noble lineage in the aforementioned kingdom, and they had one daughter, whose name was: Inés González de C., who married Rodrigo de Tovar (son of Juan de Tovar, brother of the Admiral of Castile Fernán Sánchez de Tovar, and of Doña María de Velasco), connecting by this link the two noble lineages. They were children of the aforementioned marriage: Juan de Tovar, who married in León, where he left a long succession: and Sancho González de C., second of the name, who continues in this house. This Sancho González de C., inherited from his parents the house of the last name C. and was the first of the lineage that passed to Andalusia.
