Cette maison, des plus anciennes du Languedoc, forma de nombreuses branches dont l'une passa en Vivarais, au Bourg-Saint-Andéol. Jean, seigneur de Gabriac, de la Falquière, Beasse, Pierrefort et le Sault, Vernon, baronne de Barjac, Sabran. La dernière de cette branche des Barjac fille d'Ozias et d'Anne de Combes, et en eut: 1° Charles; 2° Joachim, seigneur de Gabriac. Charles, seigneur du Sault et de Barjac, coseigneur de la ville du Bourg-Saint-Andéol était, capitaine de deux cents hommes d'armes. Il avait épousé le 19 octobre 1583, Jeanne de Pelet de Combas, de la maison de Narbonne. Il en eut: Joachim, seigneur de Blancheirette et du Sault, capitaine d'infanterie au régiment de Gordes (1632), qui épousa le 1 janvier 1633, Françoise de Banne d'Avéjan, et en eut: Fançois-Joseph, seigneur de Saint-Paulet marié le 19 janvier 1659, à Jeanne de Rodulph, et maintenu dans sa noblesse par jugement souverain, du 13 septembre 1669.
