Hidalgo apellido de la provincia de Santander. Tuvo casa en el lugar de Revilla, del Ayuntamiento de Camargo, y de ella fué descendiente Francisco Pontejos y de la Caxiga, caballero de la Orden de Alcántara en 1683. Otra casa hubo en la villa de Escalante, del partido judicial de Santoña, pasando algunos de sus individuos a Santoña, Buenos Aires y Manila. Otra línea moró en la villa de Frómista (Palencia). En la Real Chancillería de Valladolid hicieron información de hidalguía en los años que se indican los siguientes: José de las C., vecino de Escalante, 1772; Antonio de las C., natural de Escalante, 1790 (pasó a Buenos Aires, donde se avecindó); Bonifacio y Joaquín C. Torre, naturales también de Escalante, 1797 (ambos pasaron a Manila, donde se establecieron); Francisco de las C. Ortiz, vecino de Santoña, 1779; Antonio de las C., vecino de la misma villa, 1829, y Lorenzo y Melchor C. Montes, vecinos de Frómista, 1780.
