Antiga família Messinesa chamada Calabro ou Calbrò que deu à pátria senadores da ordem cívica, incluindo Vincenzo em 1648, 1656, 1659 e 1664; Giuseppe em 1666 e 1669; outro Giuseppe em 1714. Domenico foi deputado de saúde na peste de Messina em 1743 e cônsul do mar em 1750, conforme confirmado por Galluppi em suas obras: Estado atual da nobreza de Messina (1881), impresso em Milão por Bernardoni em 1881 ; Nobre da cidade de Messina, impresso em Nápoles em 1878; L'Armerista Italiano, impresso em Milão em 1872. Outra família Calabro floresce na Provença (França) e ergue a mesma arma e isso confirma a difusão internacional da família.
