Illustrious and noble Tuscan prosapia, originally from Florence but with branches also in Prato and Livorno, of clear and ancestral virtue, spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy. The clear nobility of the family, in all three of its branches, is testified by its presence in the valuable work "Collezione Ceramelli Papiani", built over many years by Enrico Ceramelli Papiani (1896-1976), which is a preserved collection in the State Archives of Florence and made up of almost 8000 files, made out to Tuscan families of ancient origin, which provide genealogical and heraldic information taken from archival sources preserved in the Florentine Archives or in other archival institutes or libraries in the region. In Florence the family had a noble residence in the San Giovanni district, banner Vaio; in Livorno she was admitted to the civic nobility by decree of 10 September 1792, in the person of Giuseppe Calamai,
