Originaria di Domaso sul lago di Como, questa nobile famiglia, ha per capostipite noto un Bartolomeo, il cui abiatico, dello stesso nome, ebbe due figli: Diamante, progenitore della linea marchionale della famiglia e Andrea, dal quale derivò la linea comitale. Dal primo discese Antonio, questore del Magistrato Ordinario, che acquistò il feudo di Turano, sul quale appoggiò il titolo di marchese ottenuto con diploma 11 settembre 1690, con trasmissione primogeniale maschile. Da Ippolita, dei conti Corio, ebbe Bartolomeo (dec, 1732), Filippo Antonio, questore del magistrato Ordinario, conte di Paderno per diploma imperiale 29 luglio 1716, e quattro figlie: Maria, sposa al marchese Magenta; Virginia al conte Della Porta; Laura al conte Pecchio e Marianna al conte Airoldi: con lui la famiglia si pone tra le più cospicue della nobiltà milanese.
