Antica e distinta famiglia, che figura residente in Carpi, fin dal secolo XVIII. E' sua gloria aver dato i natali a mons. Adeodato, vescovo di Modena ed abate di Nonantola, ex monaco Cassinese, dotto e pio sacerdote, il quale fu per acclamazione ascritto al Libro d'Oro di Modena il 18 gennaio 1832. La nobiltà di Carpi, nella linea maschile, fu concessa con Rif. Carp. 28 novembre 1818. Sono appartenuti a questa nobile casata: Giuseppe, di Bartolomeo, di Ercole, di Bartolomeo. Fratelli: Anna, Eugenia, Agnese, Massimo, nato 10 ottobre 1865, spos. a Lavinia Paltrinieri. Figli di Massimo: Giovanni, nato 10 dicembre 1887, spos. a Giulia Molinari, Umberto, nato 18 aprile 1890; Enrichetta in Cattini, nata 22 maggio 1891; Bartolomeo, nato 23 maggio 1897. Figli di Giovanni: Matilde, nata 21 agosto 1923; Alfonso, nato 9 marzo 1915; Massimo, nato 8 febbraio 1918; Bruno, nato 21 settembre 1919; Aldo, nato 24 ottobre 1923.
