Nel 1647 la famiglia C. fu dai Priori e Capitani della città di Pescia dichiarata meritevole di essere ammessa agli uffici comunitativi per le arti maggiori, in considerazione delle "sue qualità, facultà, civiltà, parentele e trattamenti", e Dioneo, di Vincenzo, fu l'anno seguente tratto della borsa dei signori della festa di S. Dorotea, nel 1650 da quella dei Visitatori dei confini. Il figlio di Dioneo, Giov. Vincenzo, fu dei Priori nel 1677, carica sostenuta poi, nel 1719, da Paolo Antonio, di Giov. Vincenzo, e nel 1751 da Giov. Vincenzo, di Paolo Antonio. La famiglia C. fu ascritta alla nobiltà di Pescia con decreto del 27 gennaio 1777. La famiglia è iscritta genericamente nell'Elenco Uff. Nob. Ital. del 1922, col titolo di Nobile di Pescia (mf.) in persona dei Discendenti da Giov. Giorgio, Ferdinando, Giorgio Antonio e Michelangiolo, di Pietro, di Giorgio. Altro ramo.
