Hebbe origine nella città di Lucca la famiglia Campisieno da un certo Henrico nobile Lucchese, il quale nella divisione de' suoi tenitorij, ch'ei fece nella dispositione testamentaria, lasciò i campi di Galba à Lodovico suo figlio secondogenito nel 1228; e mentre non poteva proferire la sua volontà col moto della mano accennava al predetto Lodovico, dicendo solamente (i Campisieno) d'onde avvenne, che dal vulgo il Lodovico fù agnominato Campisieno, e poscia C.; essend'egli della chiarissima famiglia Corella, e seguì questo agnome di C. à tutti i posteri del predetto Lodovico, che furono copiosi di prole. Il primo, che de' C. passò in Sicilia, fù Corrado C. di Lucca sotto il reggimento del Rè Giacomo, che poscia à serviggi del Rè Fedrico II s'impiegò; perloche molti carichi grandi nella città di Siracursa hebbe; ove si casò con Leonora di Sinisio, con la quale procreò Lodovico, che fù padre di Giovanni
