In Spanien gab es verschiedene Herrenhäuser dieses Nachnamens, ohne dass zwischen ihnen eine Bindungs- oder Verwandtschaftsbeziehung bestand. Einer der ältesten siedelte am Ort Canales (dessen Name er annahm) im Gerichtsbezirk Murias de Paredes (León), und ihre Kinder waren berüchtigte Söhne dieses Ortes und im Tal von Lillo im Gerichtsbezirk von Villafranca del Bierzo, in der gleichen Provinz. Das Haus der Stadt Sahagún und ihre Linien, die in Quintana del Monte, Barrios de Saldaña, Almanza und Cea lebten, gingen von der oben erwähnten leonischen Stätte aus. Aus dem Hause Sahagún stammten: Diego, Hernando, Antonio und Melchor de C., Einwohner der genannten Stadt, die 1536, 1544 und 1577 ihren Adel in Valladolid bewiesen. Aus der Linie der Barrios de Saldaña stammten: Diego de C., der Doña Catalina de Prado heiratete, und sie waren die Eltern von Rodrigo de C., der Doña Leonor de Corniero heiratete, geboren aus dieser Ehe: Francisco de C.,
