Familia famosa por haber derivado de ella las facciones de los blancos o los negros, lo que preocupaba mucho a la Toscana. Su jamba fue Pietro del Porcone, gran canciller del reino de Francia. El canciller, su hijo, que ejerció el mismo cargo que su padre en 1174, regresó de Francia a Pistoia, su tierra natal, donde propagó su linaje.
