Ritroviamo la famiglia C. una delle famiglie nobili della felice città di Palermo, o percioche visse Giacomo C. cavalier di grido ne' tempi del Rè Federico III, passò costui di Valentia ne' tempi del Rè Pietro II, dal quale fù impiegato nel carico della Castellania di Cefalù, ove procreò à Filippo, che fù gentilhuomo della Reina Bianca, da costui ne nacque Giovanni, che ne' suoi privilegi è chiamato dal Rè Alfonso con titolo di Miles, ed acquistò nel 1495 la Terra, e castello di Pietralia, i feudi di Mondiletto, di l'Ogliastro, Sciarrasia, de' Margi, di la Culla, e Mandarini sottano anche i feudi di Piscardo, ch'erano delle pertinenze di Montemaggiore: ed in tutti questi successe Antonio suo fratello nel 1507, al quale i suoi figli Gio. Giacomo, e Francesco Dottor di legge fratelli nel 1513: da costoro ne venne il P.Bartolomeo Gesuita, e Mario, che s'investì del feudo di Piscarod,
