La famiglia di Piacenza è un ramo dell'antichissima famiglia de Andito, modernamente Landi. Si staccarono dai de Andito nella prima metà del sec. XIII; il cognome in quel tempo era un nome di battesimo di un membro dei de Andito. Ciò viene dimostrato da un atto di cessione rogato dal notaio Albertus, del 9 aprile 1235. Molti membri di questa famiglia occuparono cariche pubbliche. Rainaldo fu camerario del Comune di Piacenza; Antonio, iscritto nell'albo dei dottori e giudici piacentini, divenne professore di leggi e fu poi elevato al vescovado nel 1490. Francesco, allievo del Collegio dei Nobili di Parma, divenne colonnello della Guardia Nazionale, e ispettore della medesima nell'Umbria, nelle Marche, poi nella Toscana. Motto della famiglia: In veri et boni cognitione vera voluptas
