Very noble Ligurian lineage, whose first news is already around 1100, spread over the centuries, in different regions of Italy. Known as Canevari or Canevale, this family is originally from the villa of the same name in the Fontanabona, whence its members went down to Rapallo and finally to Genoa, where they were then ascribed to the hotel of the Franks, in 1528. Among the characters who have made the most of prestige to the family, we remember: Bernardo, of the late Cristoforo, governor of Corsica in 1570; Benedetto, of the late Cristoforo, Genoese patrician, flourishing in 1577; Teramo, magistrate of Banco di S. Giorgio, who disappeared at the end of the tenth sixth century; magnificent Octavian, magistrate and senator, flourishing in 1610; Demetrius, doctor and bibliophile, very trusted by Pope Urban VIII, who passed away in Rome on September 22, 1625; Giammatteo, lawyer, flourishing in 1620; Gio. Lodisio, senator
