Famiglia milanese, originariamente dedita al traffico. Paolo fu impresario civico ed il figlio suo, Pompeo, prese in moglie Orsola Benzi, che lo rese padre di Paolo Francesco, canonico ordinario della Metropolitana, di Carlo, giureconsulto e di Pompeo. Questi da Vittoria Olivari, figlia di Rocco Antonio, tesoriere del Senato, ebbe Antonio Maria e Carlo Maria. Carlo si unì a donna Caterina Krentzlin, figlia di don Pietro, agente imperiale presso gli Svizzeri, dalla quale ebbe Pompeo, Cristoforo e Luigi. Sorelle di lui furono Giuditta, sposata in prime nozze con don Galeazzo De Capitani d'Arzago e in seconde col marchese don Alessandro Rescalli e Rachele, moglie di don Antonio Borgazzi. Con diploma 20 maggio 1756, l'imperatrice Maria Teresa approvò la vendita fatta dalla R. Camera ai cugini Canzi, del feudo di Lambrate. La famiglia è iscritta genericamente nell'Elenco Uff. Nob. Ital. del 1922 coi titoli di Signore di Lambrate Inferiore (mpr.), Nobile (mf.)
