Eine alte Familie, an die es laut De Nicastro seit dem 11. Jahrhundert in den neapolitanischen Regionen klare Erinnerungen gibt. In der schwäbischen Zeit wurde es zu den feudalen Familien gezählt, und ein Tommaso, Partisan von König Manfredi, wurde von Karl I. von Anjou beschlagnahmt. Später wurden Giovanni und Roberto zu Rittern ernannt; Peter Schatzmeister des Königreichs (1275); Joshua, der in der Kirche von S. Chiara (1323) begraben wurde, kämpfte mit König Robert in der Lombardei. Luigi war r. Familie und Botschafter des letzten Königs von Aragon, der in sein Exil nach Frankreich folgen wollte. Sohn von Luigi war Annibale, r. Stadtrat, und der an der Armee Karls V. in der Schlacht von Pavia und der Einnahme des Schoners teilnahm. Von seinen drei Söhnen: Marcello starb er 1556 im Mailänder Kampf um Filippo II .; Camillo war der Vater von Elia, der bei der Einnahme von Strigonia in Ungarn starb,
