Detti Capirossi dal loro stemma gentilizio, dall'Incisa discesero a Firenze nel secolo XIII. Donusdeo fu notaro della signoria nel 1290, e dopo quell'epoca dal 1380 al 1511 ottennero i suoi discendenti cinque volte il priorato. Coro di Stagio gonfaloniere nel 1429, e suo fratello Leonardo generale dell'ordine dei Domenicani, maestro del S. Palazzo e finalmente Cardinale nel 1426; altri due di questo stesso nome furono uomini di lettere, uno Vescovo di Massa e segretario di Paolo II, l'altro canonico della Cattedrale di Firenze. Latino capitano di Enrico VI re d'Inghilterra, e Roberto ammiraglio dell'Ordine di Rodi. Sotto il governo mediceo Francesco di Camillo Dati fu eletto senatore; e Leonardo Vescovo di Montepulciano. Della famiglia non si hanno più notizie dal 1767. Arma giusta: D'argento, a tre teste di uomo di rosso, poste in profilo, ordinate in fascia, col capo d'Angiò.
