Antigua y muy noble familia de Nápoles, de clara y ancestral virtud, que se ha extendido a lo largo de los siglos en varias regiones de Italia. Famoso fue Domenico Capitelli, por sus méritos patrióticos. Nacido en San Tammaro (Terra di Lavoro), fue un destacado abogado, presidente del Parlamento napolitano en el corto período constitucional de 1848 y un gran político perseguido. Murió en 1854. Una calle en Nápoles, no lejos del edificio donde se encontraba el Parlamento napolitano, recuerda su nombre. Su hijo William (1840-1907), alcalde de Nápoles en 1869, tuvo el gran honor de mantener al príncipe de Nápoles en la fuente sagrada SAR. Y en esa ocasión, por decreto del 18 de noviembre de 1869, Su Majestad el Rey de Italia, Vittorio Emanuele II, se complació en otorgarle a William el título transmisible de Conde. Note: l'interpretazione del blasone del Crollalanza è poco specifica, il capitello potrebbe essere partito d'oro e di rosso, probabilmente si tratta di un alias; lo Spreti lo blasona bianco senza incertezze.
