En 1122 Romanus Capoccius Rom está registrado en Cencio Camerario. Inocencio IV en 1244 hizo al Cardenal Pietro Capoccio, un noble hombre romano de gran piedad y gran valor, como Ciaccone habla dignamente de él. Clemente XVI hizo al Cardenal Nicolò Capoccio de 1350, no muy diferente del Cardenal Pietro en virtud y méritos.
