Antica famiglia della quale si hanno memorie nell'archivio della SS. Trinità di Cava, sin dal 1159. Godette gli onori del patriziato nella città di Pozzuoli. Venne riconosciuta nella sua nobiltà nel 1843 e 1844 come quarto di altre famiglie nell'ammissione di queste nelle RR. Guardie del Corpo. Nel 1871 fu ricevuta per giustizia nell'ordine di Malta. Questa famiglia è rappresentata in Pozzuoli dai discendenti di Flavio e Giuseppe riconosciuti patrizi di Pozzuoli nel 1858. E' decorata, in uno dei rami residenti in Napoli, del titolo di marchese di Campolattaro, per successione della famiglia Blanc, titolo concesso nel 1770 a quest'ultima, in cambio del titolo di marchese del Pizzone del quale si trovava investita sin dal 1668 e con la stessa anzianità.
