Antica ed assai nobile famiglia siciliana propagatasi, nel corso del tempo, in diverse regioni del Regno. Un Giovanni fu regio e principale giudice di Messina nel 1256. Altra famiglia. Antica ed assai nobile casato abruzzese, con residenza in L'Aquila, i cui membri presero valorosamente parte alle crociate e furono feudatari dei castelli di Bagno, Caporciano, Coppito, Tussio, Sinizzo e San Nicandro. Agli albori del XVIII secolo la famiglia ottenne il titolo Baronale proprio su San Nicandro. Nel 1701, inoltre, essa venne ricevuta, per giustizia, nell'Ordine di Malta ed aggregata al patriziato Aquilano, di cui godette gli onori sino all'abolizione generale dei Sedili. Tal illustre casato ha contratto parentela con altre nobili famiglie di Navelli come i Baroni Francesconi e i Signori Mancini ed inoltre ha avuto lo "Jus Patronato" di due altari, nella chiesa di San Sebastiano.
