Un Paolo Salvatore acquistò la baronia di Formica e ne ottenne investitura a 1 marzo 1772, trasmettendola al figlio Giuseppe, che ne fu investito a 31 agosto 1790. Con Decreto Ministeriale del 6 ottobre 1900 il titolo di nobile dei baroni della Formica (mf.) venne riconosciuto al sig. Sebastiano (di Raffaele, di Vincenzo), padre di Raffaele, Francesco, Aurelio, Concetta, Francesca, Marianna e Cesare Antonino. Con Decreto Ministeriale 1904 il signor Salvatore (di Sebastiano, di Salvatore), padre di Addolorata e Maria, ottenne riconoscimento del titolo di nobile dei baroni della Formica (mf.) ed egli stesso con RR. LL. PP. del 21 agosto 1908 ottenne riconoscimento del titolo di barone (mpr.) che con Regio Decreto 29 gennaio 1904 era stato concesso al padre suo Sebastiano. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famiglia di Fossombrone. Panfilo capitano in Candia per la Veneta Repubblica nel 1615.
