Questa è la famiglia del Papa Gregorio XVI (1831-1846) nato nel 1765 da Giovanni Battista, nobile di Belluno, e da Giulia Cesa. Un Michele nato nel 1626 e morto nel 1669 fu latinista, letterato esimio e secretario della regina Cristina di Svezia. Giovanni Antonio della Colomba nipote del Papa fu Gran Priore dell'Ordine di S. Giovanni di Gerusalemme* nel Lombardo Veneto. In vigore della Costituzione di Benedetto XIV sulla nobiltà Romana che prescrive che le famiglie dei Romani Pontefici siano ascritte all'ordine dei nobili, venne questa famiglia annoverata, con Senatus Consulto del 20 giugno 1831, tra le medesime. *Noto anche come "Sovrano ordine di San Giovanni di Gerusalemme", ordine cavalleresco cattolico istituito nel secolo XI a Gerusalemme; assunse in seguito carattere militare, combattendo insieme ai crociati.
