Ritroviamo chiara, e nobile la famiglia C., oue Carpanzano, ed anche corruttamente Crapanzano, così nella Città di Marsala, come in quella di Trapani; hebbe elle principio da Palascino C. cavalier Catalano, il quale venne in Sicilia con Federico d'Arena Vicerè sotto il Rè Manfredo, e si casò con la figlia di Perrono Mosca Conte di Modica, con la quale procreò Antonio, e Guglielmo C., che, sotto il Rè Carlo d'Angiò, hebbe Antonio, Guglielmo, e Saurina, che fù moglie terza del Conte Manfredo di Chiaramonte, chiamato il Padadino perche com'habbiamo detto, la sua prima moglie fù Liviella Mosca, figlia del Conte Manfredo Mosca, la seconda fù Mattea Palici, con la quale procreò Simone, e la terza fù la detta Saurina C., che gli generò Giovanni, e Manfredo Chiaramonte. Dal già detto Antonio ne nacque Palascino 111, che, nell'arrivo, che fece il Rè Martino in Trapani, fù dalla sua patria Marsala mandato
