Ancient and noble Sicilian family from Messina called Caprì, Crapì, Capri or, according to the heraldist Crollalanza, also Collo Capra. In Mollica's mastra nobile we also find a fra Giovanni (years 1590 and 1591) and a messer Giovan Battista (years 1596 and 1602). A Tommaso, on the other hand, seems to have been governor of the Tavola pecuniaria of Messina in 1612-13, a position held in the year 1630-31 by a Francesco; a Giovan Domenico was judge of the straticocial court of Messina in 1620-21 and senator of that city in 1632-33.
