Antica e nobile famiglia di Marsala detta Capozzo o Capuzzo fregiata del titolo baronale e nobiliare propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse città del Regno. della quale notiamo un Alberto, regio cubiculario sotto i Martini; un Teseo che con privilegio dato a 31 marzo esecutoriato a 21 aprile 1507 ottenne la concessione della salina di Fragiovanni; un Priamo a 28 marzo 1517 ottenne di poter fare una salina in Trapani e Marsala; un Giacomo nel 1538 fu credenziere dei panni e cantarata di Palermo; altro Giacomo, figlio di Priamo, fu nello stesso anno maestro massaro della dogana di Palermo; un Vincenzo fu giudice pretoriano di Palermo nel 1752-53, del tribunale del Concistoro negli anni 1767-68-69 e della Gran Corte e primo barone della Gabella di Pelo e Merca, in sua famiglia, per investitura del 16 settembre 1775. Ignazio C. e Fava, figlio del precedente, sposò Francesca Paola Landolina
