Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Guillaume, seigneur de la Folie, en Valois, gentilhomme verrier, épousa 1° N. Brossard, fille de Colart, gentilhomme verrier qui lui donna en dot la moitié de son privilège; 2° en 1470 Antoinette du Bosc de Radepont, dont: Jean, marié en 1497 à Jeanne Bouju, qui ont continué la filiation. Une branche établie paroisse de Marpiré, évêque de Rennes, a produit un sénéchal de Vitré en 1720; une autre branche a fait enregistrer ses tirres au conseil souverain de la Martinique en 1769; trois filles reçues à Saint-Cyr, de 1712 à 1720; un page de roi en 1755, puis maréchal de camp, décédé en 1822; un chef d'escadre en 1784, décédé en 1797; deux membres tués à Quiberon en 1795.
