Enrico, detto Viola, gran camerario del regno di Sicilia, che accompagnò la regina Giovanna I nella fuga in Provenza alla venuta nel regno del re d'Ungheria, fu creato da questa conte di Gerace, con diploma dato in Marsiglia il 26 luglio 1348. Da lui discende Ottino, conte di Nicastro nel 1415, gran cancelliere del regno nel 1419, nemico di Sergianni, e Martino, gran siniscalco del regno, che diede origine ai marchesi di Mesuraca, ai baroni, marchesi poi (1741), di Pannarano, ed ai duchi di Lauriano (1751). Dal detto Enrico, Riccardo, da Riccardo, Angelo, marito di Beatrice Orsini, capostipite dei principi di forino; da questi i duchi di Vietri. Da Gualtieri, visitatore generale del regno nel 1423, uscirono i marchesi di Vico, estinti nel 1592, di Torrecuso estinti nel 1764, i duchi di Airola, estinti nel 1709, ed i duchi di S. Vito. Da questi poi i duchi di Roccaromana estinti
