Famiglia molto antica, detta anche Arcolana. Nel 1246 Aldrighetto d'A., insieme con varj altri nobili, per ordine dell'inumano Ezzelino fu ucciso nella nostra piazza. Giovanni dotto medico, lodato dal Chiocco e dal Panvinio, morì in Ferrara l'anno 1458 alla corte del Duca Borso. Arnolfo primo D'A. nel 1409, Arnolfo secondo l'anno 1456 ebbero luogo nel Nobile Consiglio di Verona; il primo nel 1404 fu Giudiscente in Soave, il secondo, ch'era figlio del suddetto medico Giovanni, sostenne la stessa carica nel 1456. Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero a questa famiglia, ma per esser questo fatto assai remoto, e d'historia molto lontana, lasciamo perciò a più eruditi delle sacre antichità, e dell'historie l'investigarne il suo certo principio. Quel che però di certo habbiamo, è che la casata per la loro antichità, e splendore, e per virtù militare, carrichi così laicali, come Ecclesiastici, e per ogno altro
